TEDxFlourCity2014: Listen Closer is less than a month away! On June 15th, stimulating talks and entertainment will energize, enlighten and challenge our audience. Many have filled out applications but there is still space in the beautiful Kilbourn Hall at the Eastman School of Music.

Come be a part of the positive discussion about local concerns and meet the people at the forefront of innovation in Rochester.

Are you wondering why we ask our audience to apply?

4 Reasons we curate our audience:

1. We want to represent Rochester.

By curating our audience, we ensure our audience is drawn from the different cultural, business, artistic, social and tech circles in Rochester.

2. We want you to love it.

We want to make sure each audience member is as passionate about the event as each other person and will enjoy his or her time throughout the day.

3. We want to create a positive atmosphere.

We want to invite positive people who have their mind on a bright future for Rochester, and are willing to engage in difficult conversations with a constructive attitude.

4. We want to fill our seats.

TEDxFlourCity is an important networking, idea sharing and intellectually stimulating opportunity. We would feel wrong to deny a seat to one person and reserve another for a no-show. The application helps us ensure our audience members are invested in the event and will attend.

There are so many inspired, driven Rochestarians who are doing great work in our community and have an abundance of ideas to contribute to the TEDxFlourCity conversation. We receive a lot of great applications and when it comes down to it, many times we have a hard time selecting one applicant over another. The best chance you have of attending is to apply early, and give yourself time to create a well thought out application. Really share what you will bring to the table.

If you know you want to apply to TEDxFlourCity2014: Listen Closer, but haven’t gotten around to it yet, take action now. The application is short, but so is the time.
