The Eastman School held its first Jazz Café event of the year last Friday on February 14th, Valentine’s Day, at the Miller Center. On the wintery evening the event gave the feel of a warm, summer Jazz Festival performance. The Eastman School will put on two more Jazz cafés. TedxFlourCity will be at both and if you attend and mention us, some of the proceeds will benefit our organization. The TEDxFlourCitySalon Kickoff (held on January 22nd at The Daily Refresher) launched a successful start to the year and an exciting preview to the upcoming main event this June. Over 60 guests turned out, among them local students, professors, scientists, business owners and of course our featured speakers: Emily Wozniak, Jason Barrett and Nancy Allinger.
On June 9th, 2013 Emily Wozniak introduced the concept of the unconventional Rochester music ensemble Sound ExChange, of which she is the founder and executive director, to the TEDxFlourCity stage.
