Girls perform better in high school, but don't achieve as highly following graduation. Laura discusses the benefits of girls only education for developing leadership and interpersonal efficacy in young women.
Laura Rebell Gross is the Co-Founder and President at Young Women’s College Prep Charter School. She taught high school English at Wings Academy in the Bronx and the Dwight School in New York City before teaching at the Young Women’s Leadership School where she was recognized in 2003 with the NYSEC Educators Excellence Award.For the past five years, Ms. Gross worked for the Mid-West Regional Schools Support Center of B.O.C.E.S., Monroe County, as a literacy coach and teacher mentor in the Rochester City School District. She has consulted with The Young Women’s Leadership Network and has authored much of the Advisory curriculum currently being used in the Network Schools. She also served on the Board of Directors of The Young Women’s Leadership Network for nine years and on the New York City Advisory Board of Donor’s Choose.Ms. Gross lives in Rochester, New York with her husband and three young daughters.
