Aimee shares her personal journey and its central influence, yoga. She will introduce the audience to the philosophy behind yoga and emphasize how yoga is gaining mass appeal not by strengthening its students physically, but spiritually.
Aimee Senise Bohn is a Yoga instructor and teacher trainer at Midtown Athletic Club and Tru Yoga Rochester. A born seeker, Aimee first found meditation while still in high school. Through study and living in the ashram of Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, Aimee met her two most significant mentors. That perfect pairing of precise asana and inspiring philosophy defines Aimee’s style of yoga teaching.Using enlightening teachings from life and yoga lore as her themes, Aimee weaves movement and words, guiding her students through the practice and at the same time guiding people within themselves. She brings students to know that there is nothing confronting any of us that we can’t shift in significant ways by skillfully using our thoughts, our bodies, and our Hearts to effect change. Aimee lives in Rochester with her 3 year old son Maxwell. In addition to yoga, she enjoys sushi, cooking, driving fast, and the company of her supportive family and friends.
