TEDxFlourCity 2013 is June 8!

TEDxFlourCity is a day-long event highlighting the passion, ingenuity, talent and perspectives of a remarkable group of Rochester-area residents. This year's program will combine extraordinary research and innovation in the community with unique stories and unusual perspectives. Our goal is to provide a forum for people to share what inspires them, but also to inspire others and to form connections that will enable great ideas to come to fruition.

It’s so much more than a conference.  It’s a platform for bringing like-minded people together for conversation, collaboration, and community-building.  It’s an event designed to catalyze positive local initiatives, so bring your ideas and your business cards!  And it’s not just one day each year.      

We are actively establishing a network of local businesses & institutions to create a self-sufficient community of future-focused entities that work together long-term to empower the lifelong learners and knowledge communities throughout Rochester and surrounding areas.  Our goal is to get people to participate in an online and physical network that links local projects with the people and resources that can make them happen.  It’s a network of the TED-Friendly. TEDxFlourCity 2012 took place on Saturday, June 9th from 9am to 5pm at the Rochester Academy of Medicine.  The inaugural event was an empowering experience for everyone involved and as time goes on we will only evolve more & more. Be part of the emerging intellectual community in Rochester, NY by joining us to celebrate consciousness.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxFlourCity, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxFlourCity event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
